Father of Dáithí Mac Gabhann says ‘time is now’ for change in the organ donation law in NI
THE father of a four-year-old boy who requires life-saving heart transplant surgery says “the time is now” for a change in the organ donation law in Northern Ireland as they face “a race against time”. On the first anniversary of the soft opt-out system of organ donation becoming law in England, Maírtín Mac Gabhann from west Belfast said the same law must be introduced to the north “for the benefit of all those people waiting on the gift of life”.
