Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool FC departure news ruins Belfast child Dáithí Mac Gabhann’s Friday
Liverpool fans across the world were left heartbroken on Friday at the news of Jurgen Klopp’s departure from the club at the end of the season.
And for one LFC fanatic, it was not the news he wanted to hear when he left school for the weekend.
Dáithí Mac Gabhann, a child from West Belfast who is awaiting a heart transplant, met Klopp at Anfield just before Christmas.
A Liverpool Football Club fanatic, the seven-year-old’s dad Mairtin was the one to break the news to the child on his was home from school this afternoon.
“Sorry to tell you son,” Máirtín said.
“It’s about Jurgen Klopp. He is leaving at the end of the season.”
Dáithí, from Ballymurphy, was left speechless, mouth wide open, when he heard those words.
