West Belfast family of child waiting for a heart transplant urge public to join June challenge

The family of a four-year-old Ballymurphy boy waiting on a heart transplant are urging people to join their June challenge to ‘talk and walk about it’. Dáithí Mac Gabhann from West Belfast was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and now requires a heart transplant to save his life. The young child, will be three years on the waiting list for the gift of a new heart on June 1, this year. Dáithí’s family, who set up the Donate4Dáithí campaign to raise awareness of organ donation, have come up with ‘Let’s Talk & Walk About It’ to encourage people to chat about organ donation over a walk, a run or cycle.
