Donate4Dáithí campaign ‘delighted’ at change of heart on soft opt-out organ donation bill

The father of four-year-old in desperate need of a new heart is “absolutely delighted” the Northern Ireland Assembly will finally discuss soft opt-out organ donation. Health Minister Robin Swann revealed last night he was “pleased to say” the bill has been signed off for an ‘urgent procedure’ today. His announcement followed discussions with First and Deputy First Ministers Paul Givan and Michelle O’Neill.

Máirtín MacGabhann, who has been ardently campaigning for the bill in a bid to help his son Dáithí and others get the organs they so badly need, has welcomed the decision after a rollercoaster week. Full Story Here
